In the beginning (at 12/04/1999 probably), this band was known as “Os Democratas”, but another band was already called that. Without a name for the band, Lucas (lead singer, guitar) heard the name FRESNO on ESPN and liked it. Since then, the band has been called Fresno.
Friends since high school, Lucas Silveira (lead singer and guitar), Gustavo Mantovani (guitar), Bruno Teixera (bass) and Pedro Cupertino (Drums) started to have their songs noticed through the Internet. Orginally, they recorded songs with only a guitar and vocals into a computar mic and released the songs on the Internet for anyone to download.
Already making shows all around the country, in 2006 the band recorded their third record, “Ciano”. Still independents, their first single Play Quebre as Correntes was widely played on radios, as well as staying on the MTV Brazil top ten (Disk MTV) for weeks. This CD contained re-recordings of three songs from the first CD. (Play Teu Semblante, Play Stonehenge and Play Sono Profundo).
